Look at those lovely blue eyes!
Hello everyone,
It`s been an eventful day here one way or another. It started early for me after Kerry asked me to go with her for her 8 week post natal check-up with the doctor. Our surgery checks out the babies at this time too, so Roman was there for his once-over as well! Kerry said the doc was very pleased with them both. Apparently she thinks Roman has a fast matabolism and is growing very quickly. She suggested that he is put onto a baby milk especially designed for hungrier babies. But all in all he is doing very well and mum is absolutely fine too. Then the surprise..... Kerry knew Roman is due for his first injections but didn`t realise that she would be sent to the practise nurse for them to be done today. We waited for over an hour for them to be done. Roman was so bored he fell asleep and Kerry and I thought of doing the same! We were both hungry and I really fancied a cup of coffee, alas, we had to wait until we got home. Apparently, they now inject the babies in both legs instead of their arm.... Roman only cried a little bit and I think Kerry was more upset than he was afterwards.
Little Man and mum
When we got home we had lunch and then took Jake and the still sleeping Roman for a long walk..... We were going along nicely minding our own business when a woman I know stopped with her dog to say hello. Well, Jake did something he`s never done before, he lunged forward suddenly almost pulling me over, slipped his collar and lead and went charging off up the road. I didn`t realise at the time that it had wrenched my shoulder quite badly but I was concerned for Jake on the road. It`s only a country toad but the traffic is quite fast down there and he wouldn`t stand a chance if he ran out. Luckily he came back as soon as I called him and I put his collar back on. While we were standing chatting my shoulder and the muscles across my rib cage started to feel sore, and got worse as our walk continued. By the time we got home it was really painful. I know it`s just a strain but it still hurts.
I`ve made an appointment to see the doctor myself next week. I have arthritis in my thumb joint in my right hand and it`s become very swollen and painful. I have a support from the hospital but that only helps for a while. Time for some medication I think.........
Jim has almost got over his cold but is now coughing quite a bit. I think he may have to see the doctor if it doesn`t clear up in a couple of day. he feels ok he says, buit he not sleeping and he`s on early shift so he`s tired when he gets up. That`s not good. I think I`m getting the cold but it`s slow coming. Well I`m all ready for it with echinacea, paracetamol and lots of fluids to dive it away...lol!
Well my friends I still have lots more journals to read and I have to play Bookworm again tonight! So all of you take care and have a lovely day/evening depending on where you are.

That Roman is really growing. Poor Jake is getting into trouble again. Glad he came back when you called. Kerry looks just like her mom. Bet if you had your picture when you were her age you couldn't tell you apart. Hope you soon get to feeling better and that the pain soon goes away. Hope Jim soon gets well. Helen
awwwwww cute baby pics...Hope the painful shoulder gets less sore soon...Seems a tad daft to have to wait that long to get the injections specially when it's for a baby duh!!!!
I cried when my two had their jabs.....it hurt me to know that my babies were in pain! What am I like? These dogs don't realise what they put us through when they slip their collars, needless to say I bet you have made Jakes tighter!!
P.S. As you cannot get down until next year, hope you enjoy the pictures of some of the lights that I posted this morning.
Poor little Roman. Nathan has to have his MMR tomorrow and Becky is worried sick about it, there has been so much controversy. Please God there will be no bad affects. Yes, he was a hungry baby as well but nothing like Daniel who never stops eating and as he is on the breast Becky is finding it very wearing. I wonder why Jake did that? Wonder if he spotted something, you will have to make sure he cannot get out of his collar. Sorry about the shoulder, sprains and strains can be very painful. Hate to tell you but they say now that Echinacea has no affect at all!
Roman is growing fast! Lovely photo of Kerry and Roman. I do hope your shoulder will get better soon. I have arthritis in my thumb, they gave me a thumb spike, probably same as yours! It still aches, especially in the winter. Have a good evening. Jeannette.xx.
at the risk of repeating myself Roman is so gorgeous,Ibet you know that really without me telling you !!Poor you strains are so painful arent they ,hope it soon gets better ,Jan xx
Great Photo's.Cute little man
Roman is so cute...love those eyes...he looks so heathy and so does Mum! Great photos of both. Hope he does well with his shots..some babies have little reactions in the form of fevers, hope he is one of the lucky ones that does not. I am sure he will be fine...the shots in the upper thigh area has been the norm here for years. Your poor shoulder and arm now...wow...Jake is something else. I hope you will feel better soon and also Jim, with his cough now. Roman's immune system is probably very strong. You get some rest and relax that arm/shoulder.
Hugs,
Joyce
Sandra these are lovely photos...............

This is so WAY off subject...but I LOVE your firescreen! I am looking for something along those lines to use when the fireplace is not in use. Poor little buddy! Tell Kerry to request that they double team the little man for his next shots. It sounds cruel...but at a count of three, with a nurse on each side, it is over in a sec. I did this with all three of mine. Our family doctor is the doctor/goddess of all doctor/goddesses...it is standard practice in her office. Tell Kery she looks FAB! ;) C. http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies
Sandra,
Your Daughter and Grandbaby are both lovely! I hope you are feeling better, I know Jake would never try to hurt his Mom!
Take Care,
Diane
Hi ! This is a cute baby boy........... I hope you are doing better. Pretty soon the baby will be up and walking in no time. This little one will be a heart breaker I'm sure.......
ouch indeed! Eddie had the hungrier baby milk and it made him constipated so I switched him back to normal formula and gave him a little baby rice, he was nine weeks. Take care

Roman is just lovely. I suppose it was a good thing to have his injections while at the surgery. What a long wait you had, Roman wqas sensible going to sleep.lol
Beautiful photos. Hope your shoulder is alright .
Kerry is so pretty and Little Man is so gorgeous and healthy looking. Good for him not getting so upset over the shots. my kids always got fevers afterwards. Jake was a bad boy but i sure am glad you were able to get him right back. I hope your shoulder is better today. Seems like the cold is going around there..hope you and Jim feel better soon! Love, lj
Very charming photos of Roman and Kerry. His first shots must be traumatic for the mother. Luckly they don't happen too often. I know what you mean about having the dog pull on the leash. I have prepare myself every time I walk him as he pulls tremendously as he finds new scents and loves to catch grasshoppers and crickets. I let him run loose every now and then because I am in a very rural area, and know where he likes to roam. I love watching him run in the yard. mark
Oh Roman is a gorgeous little puddin! And he has such a pretty Mum too.LOL at Jake but sorry about your arm .
Fab photos once again - thanks for sharing them with us :-) Awwww sorry to hear Jim had the cold, but I hope it's gone past you!! Ouch at your strain injury - naughty jake!!
