Hello everyone. I must apologise for not posting an entry yesterday. I had such a full day and by the time I did get online I was rather tired and just read the journals instead. Sometimes it`s just more fun that way, and I do need to keep up with everyone`s news. We actually spent the day shopping, walking Jake and visiting Jim`s mum and sister. Actually, Jim dropped me at his sister`s house while he went on to visit mum at the nursing home. I had a long talk with his siter and she was really lovely to me while we chatted about my mum. My lovely brother-in-law is a Cream fan and he knew they were playing their last date last night at London`s Earls Court. He didn`t have a ticket so he set off by train in the hope he could buy one at the last minute. I`ll have to ring him today to find out whether he was successful. I had to rub it in and tell him that when I was 15 I saw them play at the Windsor Jazz and Blues Festival...so many years ago........1966 to be exact !
The most important event of today is about the unfortunate Jake. On Monday he is to be castrated. It almost brings tears to my eyes! The reason being is that he is constantly being picked on by other male dogs who see this fine young buck as a threat. So `they` have to go! As he is a rescue dog and from an organisation called the Labrador Lifeline Trust, for the first year of his adoption, we have to ask permission for Jake to have an anaesthetic. Our vet has recommended the op. so Jim called Kim, the helper from LLT and she told us to go ahead with and get it done. So he is booked in now and no going back. I had to laugh at the receptionist though, when I asked the cost of the proceedure she said, it depends on the size... ` Of what ?` I asked , rather surprised, `Of the dog,` she laughed.... and so did I, as I was thinking the obvious and was wondering how that would make any difference to the price. lolol !
At this present moment we are having our new door fitted. I will be so nice to be able to walk out of the front door again! Now I have to do some more housework so I hope you all have a great weekend and also that the weather is a bit brighter where you are. Take care. :-)

Mornin Sandra,
Just a quick note. Nice to read you are doing okay. Poor Jake ... ouch!
Well, out the door; backpacking & trout fishing this weekend with the buddies.
Take care,
Rick
Glad to hear you're OK Sandra, thinking of you my dear.
Poor Jake!! I had to laugh at the 'depends on the size' thing, I was thinking the same as you when I first read that!!

Sorry I have not commented earlier. Got the flu - again!!! Poor Jake, I felt the same when we had ours done but it will help, it certainly did with Pip who had the same thing. I burst out laughing at "depending on the size". I thought the same thing as well, must be our female minds!!!!! Glad you had a good day and it will be great to have your new front door. We have always wanted a decent double glazed one (ours is just wood) but we cannot afford it now *sighs". You certainly need that new door with the weather the way it is, it is cold enough for November!
Sandra, So sorry to hear that Jake is going to lose his balls....poor guy. I hope all goes well on Monday though. Wasnt Eric Clapton in Cream? If you ever think about it, send an email or make an entry about what kind of music you enjoy. I love knowing that about my friends. I hope you have a wonderful weekend....take it easy!! Love, lisa
Poor old Jake! Inevitable I suppose. But great news about the new front door at last! I hope you're pleased with it, and I can imagine what a difference it'll make.

As usual you have put some humour into my life today Sandra. The graphics and remark about "size" gave me a good giggle. Take care.

LOL on the price of "the dog"! He He. Love this graphic. I have one of these dogs but their tails don't move. It also says something like "what's the problem?" I forget exactly. I have so many graphics.
