THURSDAYS THOUGHTS

Hello everyone,  I know I`m late posting today but I`m still ailing with this rotten head cold that just won`t budge and my brain seems to be working slower than normal !  I should be resting as it is always the best way to recover, but not being one to take my own advice I carry on regardless, taking Jake out when my head is spinning round and round, doing lots of spring-cleaning that could really wait till later.  Tonight I`ll go to bed early and hopefully I`ll sleep better than the last two nights. I even dreamt last night that I ran the London Marathon and completed it in 2 hrs.  I might just be able to run ONE mile, let alone 26!

This afternoon I took Jake to have his stitches removed and guess what ?  he was as good as gold, he didn`t even murmur.  We just got him to lay on his side while Dominic our vet,  snipped away with the surgical scissors.  Then Dominic told me that he is leaving...I was stunned.......he is the best vet we have ever had.  Brilliant with animals and always explains things properly but in easy to understand language, just what is needed in a job like that. He was the vet who cared for Hannah right through until the end. He is a lovely bloke and he will be much missed by all the clients and staff.

Kerry came round to say goodbye before going home to pack for Russia.  They have to get up very early tomorrow to get to the airport.  Jim offered to take them but he leaves for work to early for them.  He will be picking Kerry up from the airport when she arrives home on Wednesday evening.

Last night we had friends round for the evening.  It was nice to see them because it perked me up, as I was feeling so poorly.  It took my mind off being ill for a while.  We chatted until about 10pm when we had to part company as Jim can`t stay up any later when he`s on early shift as he has to be at work for 5am.  I don`t know how he does it, that time of day doesn`t exist for me!

Well that`s enough from me tonight.  I hope you`ve had a good day, and for my American friends I hope you HAVE a good day!  Bye for now  :-)

Don't worry about your brain slowing down 'til it gets as bad as mine. I leave notes around to remind me of events, things to do etc. and forget to read them! Hope you soon feel better.

Hi Sandra,
I hope you get the much needed rest tonight and all goes as you planned.  Jake sure is a trooper, sounds like he did great.  Sorry your Vet is leaving.  I know if mine left, I would be upset too.  Maybe the rest tonight will make for a brighter tomorrow! Take care!  Joyce

Jake sounds wonderfull, very calm, mind you labs are, its always the same, when you get a good vet, they always move on, we had that years ago, the vet we have now is good, but its never quite the same, love the scribbles you do. Hope the cold goes soon. xx Juliexx

I'm sorry you're so poorly Sandra, am doing a sad face at the computer, but you can't see it, so I thought I'd tell you instead!  I hope you had a good sleep, and that you feel a little better today at least.
Wishing Kerry a safe journey and a lovely few days away.
Made me smile that 1/100th of a second is called a jiffy, I never knew that, but I say 'I'll be back in a jiffy' all the time!!  Well, not ALL the time, just when it's required that I say that, would just be silly if I said it ALL the time ;o)
