Hello Everyone,
I`m getting later and later with my daily entry. I must resolve to be earlier tomorrow! It was another busy day in what I think may be a busy week. Firstly I had a hairdressers appointment at 10am to get my roots done. I wish my hair would go grey because then my roots wouldn`t look as bad. How is it possible to be 53 with very little grey stuff? As it is every six weeks when they are due to be done I look rather like a skunk, or being English, should I say a badger !
I got home about 12 noon to find that my favourite magazine had been delivered, and Jake was bouncing about and hovering near the drawer where his collar and lead are kept. No prizes for guessing what he wanted and what he got. I just gave him a shortish stroll as it was far too hot to take him very far, and then we both settled down in the garden, me with my coffee and Jake with his head on my lap.
I then decided to do some washing as the weather is so nice. Then I played some Bookworm, got beaten almost straight away, sulked...lol.! And then read some journals.
When Jim got home just after 4pm, it was a bit cooler , so armed with Jake`s water bottle, we set off for Upton Park, forgetting the schools are out, so there were lot`s of kids there. Unfortunately, there were a group of young boys, not more than 14, who were riding motor bikes across the grass, each bike with 2 riders! Not one of them wore a crash helmut and other people , including other children, were having to run for cover. We went round the other way but it does make me cross that kids that young are able to have these motorbikes at all. There is a motorcross centre in the park that teaches most of these lads how to ride properly. They wear the correct riding gear and are supervised all the times. But these boys were just being stupid. I just hope that no-one gets hurt.
Later Jake got into some long grass which he adores. We stood there watching him as his head disappeared from view and all we could see was his tail wagging furiously. He had definetely found something and it wasn`t long before we found out what. Suddenly we saw something break away from where his tail was......a rabbit...so now we know what he`d found, a rabbit warren! Eventually when he realised the other bunnies weren`t coming out to play, he gave up and reluctantly came over to us. It was then that I first smelt it...fox! He did smell terrible.... We walked further into the woody area where there is a stream, he jumped in and thrashed about and we thought he`d be fine after that. How wrong we were...he was far worse! When we got home it was out into the garden to dry off and then to get sprayed with Evening Primose Oil finishing spray, with has a lovely perfume, but I reckon he prefers Eau de Fox. :-)
Tomorrow morning I will probably be visiting a friend, and then we`ll take Jake out . I won`t see much of Jim tomorrow as he has a firefighting course to attend and won`t be home until much later. Hopefully I won`t be going anywhere else tomorrow, or have any visitors...but then it could all change by tomorrow!
Before I go, I would like you dog owners to give me some advice. Jake has a very delicate stomach and I can`t seem to get it right with his food. Any tips on what might be a good diet for him? I know he`s not ill just sensitive, so I need suggestions please! Bye for now and enjoy the rest of your day. :-)

if you put a handful of salt on a dropped broken egg it will be much easier to clean up too, salt is a very handy item to keep stockpiled!

Wow and I thought I had a busy day LOL...........I'm sorry I'm not a dog owner and have no idea what to say!! Lovely pics thanks for sharing them :-)
We were told by the Vet to stick to PAL chicken and beef type food for a dog with a dicky inside - it worked........
Our vet has always recommended a chicken and rice mix (dried). Apparently it is much easier to digest. Lovely pictures Sandra. I have to do my roots every month!!!! I am totally white at the front and sides but my hair is my original colour at the top and all down the back. There, I am giving secrets away. I do it myself though. Motor bikes are very dangerous in the wrong hands. Pity there was no police about to tick them off about no helmets. xxxxxx Nice collage. I am having extreme difficulty with collages lately. Just cannot post them correctly. I tried to do the planes today and it all went haywire.
Sandra, what pretty flowers those are. You are lucky to not have much grey!!! I am 37 and have to color every 6 wks. And i can never be happy with my hair or the color. Those dogs are something when they get out and chase things huh? And the smell, YUCK! I hope you had a restful Tues evening. Take care my friend..i am going to miss you and think of you when i am gone. Love, lisa
Lovely pictures. I love all kinds of flowers.
Wonder why a dog likes to roll in stinky stuff ?LOL. Our Jake has the tummy problems sometimes. I have noticed when he eats any type of pork it does that to him sooo no pork for him. He think he has to eat what we eat & that's not good for him. He is overweight from it too.
I used to have long hair and kept the roots colored. Now I wear it really short and I have just let the gray come on it. It is not evenly gray yet but it sure is a lot easier to take care of. Just a good wash & blow it dry. I do have to have it cut quite often. Helen
Hiya Sandra,
Reads like you had a good day. Are the pictures of your yard?
I owned a black lab once-upon-a-time, and he, as well an English Setter & Brittany Spaniel (that I owned also) each liked to roll in the stinky stuff.
To have such a keen sense of smell, it's ironic that dogs are attracted to such foul odors .. go figure.
I enjoy your trivia facts. You should compete on one of those TV game shows!
Take care,
Rick
Beautiful arrangement of framed flowers in your photos...I know all about the root problem....although I do my own hair touch up every six weeks. As far as Jakes sensitive tummy, with all four of mine...only one has a sensitive stomach and that is the Big Daddy! Never can eat table food without getting sick. But when it looks like they have tummy problems, I do the cooked hamburger and rice, lots of rice, very little hamburger. Also cooked string beans too. Any change in diet will also cause this, a new dog food introduced, etc. If that is not the case, always check with your Vet in the end. He will always guide you right. Joyce

Lovely photos as usual.Charcoal tablets are excellent for digestion problems in dogs(and humans too!) I regularly take them myself as I have a sensitive stomach and they make such a difference. They are harmless to take too.
Neat ghost story below and lovely pictures.

I love the collage. We have always fed our dogs on Friskies (used to be Beta) dried dog feeds. Maddy has Friskies Bravo, as did our Jack Russell when she was alive. We never give our dogs any commercial "dog treats", find they are terrible for dogs with a weak stomach.
