Hello everyone and welcome on this beautiful sunny Sunday. It has been the most gorgeous day and I have been making the most of it. We put all the garden furniture out today, then sat out there ourselves getting some much needed sun. Not for the purpose of tanning, but for wellbeing. I always find it makes me feel terrific. After doing a huge pile of ironing this morning it was nice just to sit out there and read the Sunday mags and do the the crosswords. Later , I just lay on the recliner/sunlounger and contemplated my existance and had all these questions buzzing round in my brain....... Why is the sky so blue ? Why do some clouds look like animals ? Why do some birds have beautiful throaty voices while others just squawk ? Why are wood pigeons so fat they can barely get off the ground?...........Why does that horrible family up the road have to have there music so loud while they have their BBQ?
This afternoon we took Jake on his country walk. So armed with a doggy water bottle we set off along the country lanes. When we reached St Mary`s church Jimcaught my arm, saying ` Shhssssh!` I looked over and there, on the edge of the graveyard, grazing, was a young muntjac deer. He didn`t know we were there so we stood by the hedgerow, and watched him till he finally slipped from view into the field that would take him home to the woods. He wasn`t timid as they usually are but that was probably due to his tender age. Jake watched him with interest but just sat and watched as well. When we finally got home we were exhausted by what is a normal walk for us, but the heat made it seem twice as long. We went into the garden, me on the sunlounger and Jim sat at the table reading, whilst Jake found a shady spot under the magnolia tree, where he curled up and slept soundly until his dinner was ready. All in all it`s just been a fabulous lazy day...... but I think the forecast for this coming week is rain! Well, we`ve had our one day of summer so it is a bit greedy to expect more......! lolol Bye for now and enjoy your day...:-)

Sounds like an idyllic Sunday! It's been a lovely day here too - but we sure do need some rain. The ground is rock hard and dry. It's the time of year when everything wants to grow like mad - and needs a lot of water!
David.
send your sun!! Our rains are back, LOL my toes are growing webs!

Yes, it was a lovely day Sandra. We did not get to sit out thought. Mike spent all afternoon cleaning out the pond filters etc. etc. I had a lousy headache and then the family arrived so I guess I have missed our one day of summer. However, we do desperately need rain and we are not in for all that much from what I saw of the forecast. I am more annoyed that it is going to get much colder xxxxxx
I came upon your journal late last and enjoyed reading your entries! Sounds like you are having a terrific Sunday afternoon!

It was a really gorgeous day but sadly it looks to be all downhill next week - we wouldn't be English, if we didn't moan about the weather. Keep smiling.

I'm glad you had sunshine - completely jealous though as it's been very overcast here!! I hope your ok - it's a shame you didn't have your camera with you when you saw that deer.
I am so glad you had such a happy day with Hubby and Jake....you deserve them!!! Love, lisa

Sounds like a nice day. Hope you have plenty more wonderful days of good weather just like that. I know Jake probably enjoyed his walk.
"Sun-day" exactly yesterday; bright and sunny here in Virginia too.
Interesting facts, especially those regarding Egypt. I would have hated to have been a surgeon back in the day... ouch!

Hi Sandra,
Oh how I could have your kind of Sunday all the time...your day sounded so peaceful and wonderful. So glad Jake is out and about and doing better. The deer story sounded so cute. Hope your Monday is an even better day...Joyce
