A GOOD DAY FOR A TUESDAY

This pair of collared doves have been coming into the garden for quite some time now.  At the moment they seem a proper pair of love birds!  This was the best photo I could get because they wouldn`t let me get any closer.

Hello everyone and welcome to my Tuesday entry.  I`ve had a nice quiet day what with Jim been gone all day fishing.  I decided to take advantage of the dry, windy day to get my washing done, though I think the rain is on its way later, and why not?  Why should today be different from any other !  I thought we`d have a problem with Jake today.  During the night I woke up to hear him wimpering. I went down to see if he was ok, gave him a bit of a cuddle and let him outside, where he promptly lay down on the lawn. I called him in and he settled after that but this morning his temporary dressing (which should have fallen off last night) seemed stuck on like glue.  I decided to dampen it around the edges and then tried to remove it.  I could only do it a little at a time because, obviously he is rather sore.  I rang the vet nurse and she said if it doesn`t come off today I have to take him back, but I was having none of that and later managed to get it off without hurting him at all.  he was delighted to have it gone as I`m sure it was pulling on his fur and annoying him.  He seems fine now apart from some local swelling and having to wear a lampshade-style collar to stop him removing his stitches.  He`s back to normal when it comes to pulling on the lead while out walking but the walks have to be shorter for a few days at least.

This morning I went with Kerry to her appointment with the midwife.  She is 28 weeks now and everything is ok with both her and the baby.  The midwife say the baby is quite a size, not bad when you consider she still has 12 weeks to go.  Kerry also has to see the doctor to get a letter saying she is fit to fly.  She is off to Russia in two weeks with Slava and she won`t be able to go without it. I just hope she doesn`t go into labour while she`s out there.  She IS only gone for four days, but I will worry all the time she`s there.

I`ve just come in fromthe garden after letting Jake out; I was checking my washing when I heard a commotion and a loud yowling noise coming from the corner of the garden.  A cheeky ginger cat was driven from behind a bush and over the fence by a very determined labrador.  Our garden is definetely a cat-free zone these days!

Just before I go, please could you spare a minute to visit my friend Sara`s journal.  She`s had some bad news and she would welcome your support.

Sounds as though Jake is well on the way to full recovery now - that's great. Glad he sees all the cats off - I could do with him here!

Oh poor Jakey, bet he's not too pleased at having to wear the lampshade either!  Sandra, thank you for sending your lovely readers my way.  That was very thoughtful of you my dear, what good friends I've made here in J-land.  I have good news today.  Bob is still with us, and the test results were good.  They are hoping to bring him out of his coma today.  I will write it all in my journal in a while :o)  (((((hugs))))) to you, just 'cause I felt like it!
