HOSPITAL AND CHURCHES

This is St. Mary`s Parish Church where Jim and I were married nearly 32 yrs ago and daughter Kerry had her wedding blessing a year ago next month.  It dates back to the time of the Normans and is a very beautiful and peaceful place.

Yesterday I went back to hospital to have the dressing on my arm changed.  It was all going really well until a couple of days ago when the scar opened up a bit and now doesn`t seem to want to heal.  It`s become a bit a vicious circle because it does start to heal but as soon as I move my arm it opens up again.  I could keep my arm straight but then I can`t do the exercise that is needed to get my arm muscles working properly.  So I just can`t win at the moment but I think this is going to take quite some time before this is back to normal.  I was hoping to find another job by the end of this month but somehow I think that will be out of the question.  I`m not even allowed to drive yet and I really want to go out and visit friends.  I`ll just have to be patient but patience is something I`ve never been very good at!

With all the snow we woke up to this morning I thought we would get out early with Jake and take some photos.  I got a couple of St. Mary`s (above), and a few others before the snow turned to rain while we were still a mile away from home.  We arrived home absolutely freezing and very wet.  All our outdoor clothes went in the tumble dryer but we needed a bit more than that to get warm. Turning up the heating a cup of hot coffee seemed to do the trick but the rain washed away the snow and now everything looks bleak again.  Roll on spring, it should be around the corner.  There are buds on the magnolia tree, camelia, azaleas and flowering currant. The trees outside the front of the house are full of blossom buds too.  I can`t wait for them all to flower.  I`ll get some great photos then !

Kerry came over yesterday, she is 18 weeks now and she is getting rather plump.  She says the baby is moving around quite a lot though I did tell her to wait until it really starts to kick!  But she is very well and hopefully she will continue to be so throughout her pregnancy.

I want to be alone. But I have to see

the chiropodist,  the dentist,

the car mechanic, the ear-syringer,

the roofer,  the window cleaner,

and a man to cut back the creeper

which is forcing its way in

through the bedroom window.

Thank goodness I don`t have to see

the manicurist, the otologist,

the arboriculturist,

the reflexologist, the phrenologist,

the hynotherapist, the gynaecologist,

the Chinese herbalist, or the phychiatrist -

at least not this week.

Oh I know about these circles......................my whole life is spent juggling meds around on that basis.

Lovely photo.

And a great poem! I can relate to that!

That is a beautiful Church Sandra. It does look peaceful. I only wish that some of the earlier churches were still standing here. It seems that you all have gotten a considerable amount of snow. I am sure it was beautiful as it fell. Here in Georgia, we are having spring weather again, with the temps in the high 60's. I hope and pray that your arm heals well and that everything gets back to normal for you. God Bless

That's a really lovely church. What a dreadful business with the scar on your arm - let's hope the hospital keeps it well monitored.

What a wonderful sense of history you English have as this beautiful old church once again illustrates.  Such a lovely feeling of tradition and permanence...all of those things that help one feel more secure in a repidly changing world.  I wish we Americans were much better at cherishing these things than we are.

Hi

It's a beautiful church! Wonder what Betjamin thought of it!
It takes a little while to load though,  maybe you want to resize your photos so they load faster.(You only need to reduce the pixels not the actual size on the screen!)
I use Pix resizer which is free and very easy. http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

Sandra....  :(     so sorry to hear about your arm.   It is hard to be patient and wait...I don't like to do that either.
That is a beautiful picture of the church you were married in, and the snow looks pretty...but cold. Glad you got warmed up with the hot coffie.

Does Kerry know what the baby will be? Can they tell yet? I am old and when I had babies they couldn't tell us those things...we just had to wait (be patient) they told us and we would find out in 9 months. :)

THANK YOU FOR THE BIRTHDAY CARD SWEETIE....LOVED IT. :)
