It`s been a wonderful day weather wise, sunny and warm with clear skies and bright sunshine, it really seems as though Spring has well and truly sprung. It was very warm at work and the customers were flocking in to buy their plants. We sold loads of primula and primroses as well as shrubs such as camelias and rhodos. I just hope the camelias are well covered up at night because I wouldn`t be surprised if there was a frost tonight. I wouldn`t mind betting that although the weather is lovely at the moment Winter is still waiting around the corner ready to pounce when when we think were safe.
Yesterday Kerry and Roman came over in the afternoon. Later we all went to the park where Roman proceeded to get covered in mud, hence the pyjama bottoms while his trousers were in the wash. Now I only see him about once a fortnight he seems to get bigger and more grown up each time I see him, when I got home from work it was "NANA! you`re home....kiss!" If I wasn`t already happy at seeing him I certainly was now. He told me all about his morning at play school and that he had done a painting for me. He told me all about his mid morning snack, apple and milk today and Carole one of the helpers there. According to her Roman mixes really well with other children and is a pleasure to have around. Not long agao he wasn`t very confident around other children and was quite wary of them, now there`s no stopping him. It seems that moving to Hampshire has done the whole family a world of good and we are both happy for them.
This is the Dragon plant that I bought for Kerry this afternoon, she likes the little one that I have on my kitchen windowsill and I know she wants a large plant to stand on the floor in her hallway so I`ve killedtwo birds with one stone so to speak. Also I bought Roman a little nest box to put in the garden, he loves to watch the birds and I know he`d love it if some of them used it. On Sunday Kerry, Slava, Roman and Danny will be here for dinner, though Jim is working and will miss out on the festivities.
It`s all arranged, next weekend I`m going to Kerry`s for the weekend while Jim stays here and does the wall papering. Kerry and I will get stuck into clearing the roots from the garden so we can prepare an area where the lawn will go. Also we are going to pay a visit to the local garden centre where we can price up all the things we are going to need once we get started. The garden centre is a branch of the company that I work for so I can get discount there, much easier than buying things from work and taking them all the way to Kerry`s house. This way she can choose her own plants and I can help her with them, lending advice where I can.
I just can`t resist watching the birds feed in my garden. I sit there at the window for ages and have to almost drag myself away, it`s so relaxing watching them. This afternoon in amongst the flock of goldfinches was this solitary chaffinch. He just sat there as if he was sunbathing for almost twenty minutes while the goldfinches ignored him while they concentrated on eating everything they could. Being a ground feeder he didn`t go near the feeders but I`ll bet he`ll be back later to eat the seeds that the goldfinches had dropped on the garden path. Because the weather is so nice I hung some washing on the line when I got home. I`ve just been outside to check it and it`s almost dry, not only that but it smells lovely, much nicer than if it had been in the drier.
Oh yes, how could I forget. Jake chased off an intruder this morning. I was in the kitchen at 6am and I heard something heavy hit the ground outside the back door. Then I heard Jake growl then bark really ferociously and then I heard something go back over the fence at speed. Whoever it was won`t be back in a hurry. I told Jim about it and he said it was probably a cat so I`d better warn you all. If you see a cat that looks as though it weighs about 14st, don`t open the door...lol!
Right, its time for a coffee so I`ll say goodbye for now. Have a great weekend and take care. :o)

I love the plant you have bought for Kerry! I have heard the term "big cats", but 14 st takes the biscuit.....hehehehehehe Enjoy your weekend. Eileenx
Oh how I wish it would show signs of spring around here! We are having rain, rain and MORE rain along with heavy winds.
We had someone jump over our fence once, we later learned he was trying to take a short cut through several yards. Our dog also chased him away. The reason I learned is a couple of neighbors had the same problem and one learned that the guy was stopped by a police officer neighbor. I'm sure that "big cat" won't be coming around anytime soon! Good dog!

I wish spring has sprung here but it hasn't. Enjoy your weekend.

Sounds like you have the more cheerful job over the weekend, helping Kerry with her garden. I think I would rather be outside than wall papering. Winter is still here and it's gently snowing out now as I speak. (Hugs) Indigo
Well done, Jake, scaring off intruders! Each time you post a picture of Roman, he looks as though he's grown another foot. They do grow much too quickly. Have a wonderful weekend! ~~Kath~~

Lovely picture of Roman and Kerry Sandra. He is certainly getting big. Make sure that Jim does get on and does not skive off watching t.v. lol.
