Hello everyone,
Today I was thinking about what to talk about in my journal and I came up with a novel and seemingly clever idea. Then I thought again and realised it wouldn`t work at all. This always happens to me, I have these `clever` ideas early on in the day and by the afternoon they seem very silly. Maybe it`s because my brain is more alert in the morning or maybe I`m just a bit strange...who knows...lol!
I`m afraid you`re going to have to read the usual boring stuff that my days are made up of if you can bear it...lol! We had a lovely day out yesterday even though myself and Jim, Kerry and Roman were all sneezing and coughing all day. We must have looked a proper sight, the four of us with red noses and streaming eyes. I suppose though the red noses are quite seasonal...lol! We got to Reading at 9am expecting there to be queues at the car park. Not a bit of it, we found a place straightaway and then headed for BB`s, our favourite coffee shop to give us a lift for the day ahead. It was nice flitting around half empty shops knowing that later on the crowds would pour in and it would be every man and woman for themselves out there. Jim bought me a lovely pair of boots for Christmas, he won`t surprise me as he doesn`t trust himself to buy the right thing, though I would love it if he did. I do love the boots and I really need them as my old ones are looking worse for wear with constant Winter use over the last three years. If I have a comfortable pair that I like I wear them out....I can`t see the sense in throwing comfy boots away, they become like old friends!
We met Kerry for lunch in Tootsies burger restaurant and then set out to but her present. Thankfully my daughter is easy to buy for as her tastes are similar to mine. I wish I could say the same for my Daniel who is a nightmare at Christmas. We`ve bought a couple of things but are now at a loss as to what to get him. We`ve decided to give him the money and let him choose for himself...it was so much easier when he was into Star Wars toys...lol!
When we got back to the car park in the late afternoon we found that it was going to cost £12/$24 for our time there, we couldn`t believe it. For that money they could have washed and valeted my car at the very least! . It has really put us off going there again unless we can find somewhere cheaper but Kerry told me one of the other car parks charge more...MORE??? I don`t know how they can justify that amount of money, it makes me mad, we`d already spent quite enough in the shops there without being penalised for the pleasure of it.
I went back to work today and was quite relieved that I didn`t feel too bad. The only thing was that I was constantly coughing and sneezing and I just hope I didn`t put any customers off their shopping! My boss gave me a bottle of wine as ` a thank you for your hard work this year`. It was a very sweet gesture and very unexpected. Now Jim and I can enjoy it with a meal at the weekend. The customers have been buying Christmas food from us today, quite a few lines have been reduced and one of them completely sold out in an hour. The `reduced` sticker on them obviously had the desired effect.
I must go now and wash my hair, having a cold has certainly made it look as it`s not been shampooed for a month let alone two days. I look like I`ve been dragged through and hedge backwards and and then through it again...lol! Take care and have a lovely evening. Bye Bye. :o)
At the moment I`m having some quiet time. Kerry and Roman were here but have now gone home. Jim is visiting his other sister B, who lives not too far away and won`t be home for a couple of hours. I had planned to get his present this afternoon but I`m rather tired so I`ll go straight from work tomorrow afternoon and while I`m out I`ll drop some Christmas parcels in to some friends. At least that way I can get everything done at once and have the rest of the week to myself...apart from late Friday evening when Jim and I will take on the hordes and go late night shopping at Tesco. NOT something I`m looking forward to but must be done regardless...sigh.

Sorry to hear you have all had the cold it rottten at this time of year. I love to wash my hair when I have the cold it seem to help don't know why maybe the steam. Parking in big cities is so expencive that is one reason we take the bus and with our pass it does work well. Love Joan.
I never think what you write is boring! Hsve a great week, and I hope you feel better soon ~~Kath~~
Well you have been busy Sandra, shopping sniffling and selling LOL!!Boots I got two pairs last week.I do think we need our boots lol!! or anything else if the men are buying haaa.Nice to read you all had a good day but the parking fee's put the damper on things. It's a right rip off in some places, our is one of them LOL!! 90p an hour here .It used o be free in winter months. They will have it off people won't they now? Of course we have aprivate parking space around the back and a permit for the front.Which works out cheaper for the front. The back being free.My sons are pretty easy to suit realy regarding Christmas presents.Good luck withthe late night shoppign rather you than me LOL!! Take Care God Bless Kath

New boots sounds good. I hope you all get to feeling better soon with all that sniffing and sneezing. In our town and surrounding areas they don't charge anything to park in the malls. Helen
Hello Sandra, sorry your colds are hanging on, hopefully you'll all be dry-nosed by Christmas!! Parking is such a rip-off isn't it? Ours is quite cheap compared to yours, 30p an hour and free on Sundays.
I hope you got some of the reduced-price food for yourself! Love, Pat http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

I know exactly what you mean about having great ideas early in the day for a post and then thinking it would not work when you finally get some computer time. I'm glad you had a good time shopping in Reading. It sounds like the car park there is a real rackett! I'd bet one of the locals would let you park at their house for half the price if you met any of them, LOL. Sorry you are all still suffering from a cold. The place you work at sounds very interesting. I thought is was a nursery, or rather a garden shop. Garden shops over here do not sell Christmas food. But then, in the winter, what would a garden shop sell? I keep forgetting about our temperate climate here in Georgia. Good luck at Tesco! You and Jim are quite brave venturing out to shp on the Friday night before Christmas. Please accept my warm Holiday Wishes!
Sam
Sounds like an interesting day to me! :)
Hope your shiffles go away & you don't get really sick before Christmas. {{}}

Wow that is expensive for parking. Of course here at our big malls, parking is free. But if you shop in downtown Seattle, I understand you practically have to sign over your "first born" to park in on of their big parking garages. Hope your sniffles are gone soon. Linda in WA

I'm doing my food shopping on Friday night so I guess we should both wish each other luck ;o) Glad you had a good day shopping what a pain about the car park though!! They are extorianate aren't they some of them?? Hope you manage to get Jim's pressie soon. I'm exactly the same with journal ideas. I walk home thinking oh yeah I could do this and that but when I go to write the entry it never turns out that way!! LOL

Glad you are feeling somewhat better and that you were able to enjoy a day of shopping!!
Kara :)
Hope you're feeling better soon.
Some colds just drag on and on.
I know what you mean about the morning thing.
My brain always seems to work better early in the morning.
I think I am very cute and clever. Then by late afternoon my cleverness starts to sound pretty lame.
Maybe it's the caffeine that helps in the morning!
have a good day!
sunny
