How`s That for Good Timing?

Phew....I`m absolutely exhausted after a very busy day at work. I`ve been working hard pysically all the time I was there, bringing in stock and moving things around in the shop. Talk about running myself ragged, I was rushing around so much that I hearly met myself on the way back...lol! Next week is stocktaking and we are going to be VERY busy indeed for the first three days of the week.

When I got home I planted the tulips and just in time I might add. I was clearing away when the first drops of rain began to fall and just as I was closing the greenhouse the heavens opened. I must admit that either time was on my side or I had a little help from up above. Whichever it was I am very grateful, gardening in the rain isn`t one of my favourite pastimes, in fact I just don`t do it...lol! Afterwards I plnted the two Amaryllis bulbs that I bought from the Dorset Show and placed them on the top of the dining room dresser. Now all they have to do is grow and give me some beautiful flowers, not a lot to ask I think!

It seems that the leaky sunroof in my car is miraculously cured. A chap I work with told me that sometimes when you close the sunroof the seals bend and leave a small gap. He told me to open it, check the seals and then close it again...it worked and I`m delighted. I really didn`t relish having to go back to the garage again or having to drive with an umbrella up so all`s well that ends well...lol!

Jim said the other day that it`s nice having the house to ourselves now Danny has moved out. He`s right, as much as we love our son he isn`t the easiest person to live with so it`s best that he has his own place. This way we still see him often and our relationship stays in tact, definitely the best way to look at it. When I remember back to his childhood he was such a good and happy little boy, but fate and events changed him a great deal. I know he`s a grown man but sometimes I mourn the loss of that darling little boy, who was, dare I say it very like Roman. Kerry though doesn`t seem to have changed at all. Her personality is unchanged from that of a toddler,  strong-willed and intelligent, funny but fiercely independent. Oh yes, the woman is the same as the child.

Anyway, that was a bit heavy so I just say a quick goodbye. I hope you all have a lovely day and have better weather than here. :o)

We've had loads of rain up here too and it's freezing cold.  Were you good with gardening and flowers before you started at the garden centre or is it stuff you've learnt since then?  You really are so clever and I imagine your garden to be glorious.
love, Angie, xx

Sound busy over there.  So Danny was hard to live with?  I know sometimes TheTeen can be.  Most of the time it is fine, but some times VERY DRAMATIC.  LOL  Oh and she gets an A in drama class too.
We will be lonely when she leaves in just a few short years to college.  But it will be different and Hubby and I will have to reclaim some time then.
Hope you are too.  I know he was older but still...life is busier with more than 2 in the house.  LOL

You sound very busy, it's nice to be busy at work, makes the time go fast.  I will probably put some bulbs in next month.  We usually have a few nice days in October.  Love the graphics,  Joni

Hiya Sandra, I have to admit I felt the same when Kevin moved out.....it was lovely to have the peace and quiet; and yes circumstances did change my once very loving son who wouldn't think twice about hugging any of his family. He has changed a lot and I do miss the person he was........ but he has his own family now and is a loving partner and Dad, and yes I will cry my eyes out when my little boy marries next June!!!!

Hi Sandra it is nice to be busy at work I would imagine it makes the day pass quickly ~ glad you got your bulbs planted before the heavens opened ~ Hope those Amaryllis do as you want and grow into beautiful flowers ~ Glad the problem with your Sunroof is sorted and you have no need to go back to the Garage ~ Hope Danny has settled into his own place OK ~ Ally x

I know what you mean about the children. My Mariah is 26 and has had complete personality changes several times in her life.I mean looks, likes, clothes, mannerisms, everything. I miss lots of her old personalities...the sunny child, the studious, serious preteen, the deep, intellectual , moody young teen, the life of the party senior in high school (although that one made me nervous.) Caitln , who is 16, is always Caitln, just bigger!

Well Im glad you are enjoying your home again. I know how much we all love our family but I agree that it is usually best for everyone to have their own space.

I know what you mean about having the house to yourself again. I love to wake up alone each day, couldn't bear to have to talk to people when I open my eyes! Kids do change sometimes don't they? Life's events make sure of that. Jeannette xx
