This is going to hurt!

Oh dear,

I visited the dentist today just to be on the safe side, I was sure he`d say it was neuralgia and to see my doctor....but no, I have a fractured back tooth and it cannot be saved. Tommorow my friends, please think of me at 1.30pm GMT when I will be sitting in the dentist`s chair rigid with fear waiting for the dreaded event to take place. I must admit that it is very painful and I`ll be glad to be rid of it for that reason. But on the other hand I`d grown very attached to that tooth (we`ve been together a long time!) and was hoping it would last me a lifetime...sigh. The dentist said the fracture was probably caused by a nut or seed and I do eat a lot of both. It must have happened last Saturday week when I bit down on something hard and I nearly went through the roof with the pain. It took a while to subside but it has been getting worse ever since...Hmmmp...neuralgia, who was I trying to kid?  Of course the pain of the tooth will be seconded by the pain of the wallet. Dentistry is a lucrative business and you should see the car, or rather the CARS that mine drives. I suppose my final bill will go towards his next holiday somewhere exotic...lol!

Anyway, must run. I only dropped in to tell you the not so good news. Have a lovely evening and I`llbe back with all the gory details....lol!  Well, some......:o)

Well Sandra we all think our teeth will last us forever.I still have my own at nearly 61,but I don't fancy false ones as so many tell me they are so hard to eat with, and I love my food Haaaa. The prices now are extortionate. My sister has just had a plate made with five small front ones on the lower set, and one extraction two sessions to the hygienist and cleaned and polished and the bill believe it or not was over £1,000 pound. She asked him if she was paying for the new conservatory he had just had built as she lives near him LOL!! I broke one of mine on a salted peanut years back in my thrities LOL.Today though I must admit I never fear the dentist I never have, but I think today it is much more pain free  than it used to be.It's the price that keeps me away now.I cannot eat nuts now as I have esophegus problems and they will not go down my throat,so it's a good thing LOL!!I hope you go well I will be thinking of you,and I will say a little prayer at 1-30pm. (let me put that on my kitchen notepad  now LOL) It is best having the treatment .Nothing worse than toothache or earache I say,it causes alsorts else.Take Care God Bless KATH

Ouch! I know very well what that kind of pain is like. I was lucky finding a dentist I like, who actually does awesome work besides. I may have to travel an hour each way to see him, but he's well worth the trip. He also drives around in an old beat up van. Must be why he is so affordable (winks). Keeping you in my prayers on the smoke tomorrows appt. goes quickly and less painful than you think. (Hugs) Indigo

oh no
nothing terrifies me worse than the dentist from a financial, psychological, neurological, and physical pont of view.
I am so in sympathy with you

Oh I will say a prayer that it goes quickly and is not as bad as you though. I don't like the dentist either and always think its going to be 10xs as bad as it usually is. Sandra

Sorry to hear you have to let one go - but it seems as though the time has come! Think of how the rest of your mouth will feel now that the one getting all of the attention has been removed! Hope you make it through with little to no pain! Take care,
Katie

Sandra,
You will most definitely be in thoughts and prayers tomorrow. There is nothing more awful (at least most things) than a trip to the dentist for a tooth pull. I know this oh so well! I will be getting an upper plate of dentures sometime very soon. Actually I look forward to it and being able to eat, not be so self concious of my smile and be pain free! YIPEEEEEEE. It will all be ok my friend.

Huggers,
Gayla

Sandra
You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow as you are parted with your life long companion.  One of my prayers will be that he uses enough pain killer so that you feel nothing as you two are separated. My dentist is a good friend, but I dread any visit and let's not even get into a discussion of the bill.  I learned recently that my dentist is a multi-milionaire just in his real estate holdings alone.  Sigh!

So sorry about your dentist ordeal.  I've been through many root canals and such and it is not fun.   Your right they are also expensive, you have to pay for that discomfort.  You will be in my thoughts and hopefully it will all be over soon.  Think about your beautiful flowers.  Joni
