And Justice?

Hello Everyone,

Well it`s not raining here but it`s as dark as night. It`s been very hot and humid with thunder rumbling around for much of the day. Another day of our good old English summer lets us down once again....sigh. The long range forecast is telling us not to expect any good weather until September so with luck our annual trip to Dorset will be lovely....we`ll see!

I`m almost certain to Dan is seeing Salina again. He`s been mentioning her inconversation quite a bit and last night he went out without saying a thing. Not of course that he has to but it was 11.30 and we didn`t even hear the back door shut...and then he didn`t arrive home until in the early hours .....VERY mysterious. And today I heard him talking on his mobile phone...in the bathroom. Who takes their phone into the shower? I know it isn`t another woman so it must be Sal. I just hope it will be for the right reasons if they do get back together.....

I`ve spent some time clearing out the computer and was doing a great job when I accidently deleted Bookworm. It wasn`t even listed as Bookworm or Popcap but Return to Atlantis. How could that be?  Anyway I`ve spent a great deal of the afternoon trying to reinstall it without success. I`ll have to try again tomorrow as I`ve had enough of it today. If I still don`t manage it I`ll buy the game from a store cos at least that I will I can`t lose it again.

I did a bit of garden tidying today. I have to water the hanging baskets and wall mangers because the rain doesn`t reach them. It must look funny to other people who see this slightly dotty woman watering her plants in the rain...lol! Today however I trimmed back some of the petunias that are starting to look a bit straggly. Also I cut back some dead heads from the roses and trimmed off yellowing leaves. The kilmarnock willow has grown out of all proportion so I`ve thinned out some of the newer branch shoots from underneath and took off some length. It looks a lot better now. I have to cut back the jasmine once it finishes flowering because it`s so heavy it`s pulled the trellis from the fence so I`m going to have to re-train it along wires on the top of the fence. I`m really pleased with the new red rose, the flowers are very resilient to the rain but look so delicate. I can`t wait to see the flowers on it next year, it should be quite an eyecatcher. The garden composter is filling up nicely now though it certainly does smell awful. I suppose that means it`s rotting well and will be fit for use next year.

I`ve started to wonder if my sinus trouble is neuralgia. I have tinnitus also which sounds like a percussion band playing loudly in my head, accompanied by a thousand twittering birds., it`s driving me mad. The tinnitus is not too bothersome in the day with all the surrounding noises but at night it`s almost deafening. I`d better make an appointment with my dentist and then the doctor to find out what`s going on, it`s very uncomfortable and very, very annoying.

Roman spent most of yesterday afternoon sleeping until I began to think he`d miss his teatime. Luckily he woke in time to have something to eat and get ready for bed and have a huge drink of milk. Slava got home from the gig at about 8pm so Roman didn`t have a late night which I`m always happy about.

Do you remember some time ago I told you the distressing case of three thugs who threw a Staffordshire Bull Terrier from a high rise block of flats in this town?  Well the accused `person`...they only caught the one, has had his court case dropped and will go free. The people who saw the poor trusting animal thrown to her death are disgusted that justice won`t be done and so am I too. If it had been a person the courts would have gone ahead with the case....but it was `just` an animal, shame on them. I hope the perpetrators feel shame for the rest of their miserable lives....but somehow I doubt it.

Anyway, on that sad note I will take your leave.  I hope you all have a good week ahead. Take care and Bye Bye for now.

Your graphics are so pretty today and the first one made me laugh! Glad you got some gardening done. I know you enjoy that. At least it's not raining so you can get outside.
I hope you get the tinnitus taken care of. I know it is miserable. I have a bit of it myself, but not so bad.
Glad Roman got up in time for his snack. He's such a doll baby!! Give him a hug for me.
Sad that the courts are not willing to punish those criminals. I have to wonder about a human that can be so cruel to an animal. I can't imagine how they think.
It's just evil, and the courts should be more accountable.
Hope you have a good Sunday.

Sandra - that is disgraceful about the poor Staffy.  How could they.  And how could the case be dropped against the perp who was caught, cocky little sod.  I don't wish ill on people but I have to say I do not wish him well.

How sad that people still get away with animal cruelty.  They say "what goes around, comes around" and in this particular case, I hope it is true.  Hope your weather isn't as bad as ours is!  Eileenx

How dare they let that person walk free!!! That is disgusting and I can only assume that person/people who have decided that are not animal lovers, either that or they are just lax in their job!!! So what if they have only 1 perpetrator, that person was still involved and should be punished accordingly.......now they can go and do it again if they feel so inclined!!! I am so angry!!!  Hope it is not neuralgia, that is not nice.My daughter takes the phone (either moby or landline) into the bathroom, must be a younger generation thing!!!

Hi Sandra, I'm sure your garden looks a lot neater after the trimming and tidying you did today, with the weather we've been having you just have to do it whenever there's a break in the clouds!  Our hanging baskets and window boxes don't seem to catch the rain either so I know how you feel watering them when we've had non-stop rain for days on end!
That was so awful for that 'thing' to be let free after doing that to the dog, although I'm sure people will let him know just what a low-life he is. Surely someone can appeal.
I suffer with tinnitus too and it's the same for me, worse in the evenings when it's pretty quiet, it's terrible when I'm trying to get to sleep, sometimes it's a continuous whooshing sound that just won't go away and almost gives me a headache. Hope you have a good week and keep us updated with what's going on with Dan and Selina - it's almost like Corrie!  Love, Pat  http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

You will just have to wait and see about Danny and Sal.  Good for you on all the gardening, you will have to put some pictures on soon. Yes, I do remember you telling us about that dog case.  I am absolutely disgusted.  Sometimes I despair at our British justice.

Disgusted about the culprits in the animal cruelty case being let free. However, justice must be seen to be done, without a shadow of a doubt. Eugh.

Hello,
Do what I do Sandra and you will never, ever have this problem again. Sign up for Xdrive. Keyword: xdrive. It will back up and store everything on your computer. If you go over a certain limit there is a very reasonably yearly fee. I am very, very thankful that I have Xdrive!

Huggers,
Gayla

Hallo...good morning..yes, this is a lousy summer..it is raining up here.  Oh..you mentioned Dorset.  I use to live just outside Wimborne Minister.  The countryside is great, I use to love Spring time, with all the bluebells in the ancient woods.  Hope you have a lovely time.  Use to live in Surrey also.  Bagshot.  Highwaymen!!!  Have a great time..in Dorset.

wouldn't it be lovely if Dan and Salina got back together ~ we will have to wait and see :o) Sounds like you have been really busy in the garden ~ it is disgraceful that 'Person' has got away with killing that poor dog ~ they say "What goes around comes around" so lets hope he gets his just punishment soon ~ Ally x

I wonder why Dan is sneaking around hahaha!  Hopefully you will find out soon enough. That is AWFUL about the person not being charged with animal abuse!  That leads to much more serious crimes.... fools!  I hope you get to feeling better!
