Hello Everyone,
Well, it was back to work this morning and it was sooo busy that I don`t have a word to describe it. I think perhaps the word `manic` covers it...lol! I was told that all weekend and yesterday was very busy though I thought today there would be a bit of a lull as people headed back to work after the Easter holidays. Not a bit of it, at least where their gardens were concerned, they came in one after another and it left me with visions of all these beautiful English gardens all planted with the specimens that I sold them...lol! The downside of this was that I haven`t had a chance to tidy the shop and it certainly needs it, hopefully tomorrow I`ll get a few minutes to replenish the shelves after all the goods that have disappeared off of them...lol!
I went garden shopping for myself to buy some herbs, some strawberries and a large hanging basket. The herbs went into an oak half barrel and th strawberries into the hanging basket. While I was planting Roman tried to help by digging the herbs up again but gave up to sweep the pavement with his very own broom...lol! Jim has put Roman`s swing, seesaw and toy car in the garden for the summer and he has wasted no time in playing with them all. The swing will soon be too small for him which rather surprised me, I thought it would at least last the summer. Jim put up Roman`s play tent to see if he liked it and the first thing he did was dive inside it and drag Jim with him, obviously he DOES approve...lol!
I hope you like the photos of some of my plants, I`m really pleased with them this year, especially the roses as they are looking in fine condition. It must be the rose food I`ve been using because they look so healthy with no sign of disease or pests. AND if any aphids or such show their faces I`m ready for them with my rose gun! Did I mention that I have sowed some sunflower seeds taken from bird seed? Well they have sprouted today and are an inch tall already. There was no sign of them yesterday so they must be growing really quickly, it`ll be interesting to see just how big they become, I`ll keep you posted with photos.
Anyway, my friends. I`ve just washed my hair so I`d better go and dry and straighten it before it takes on a life of it`s own, seriously, my hair does what it likes if I`m not careful...lol! Bye for now and take care. :o)

aren't grandchildren fun... I love all your pretty flowers. I can't wait until mine start to grow again. we do have many little spring flowers but are supposed to have snow tonight so I guess I will have to be patient yet again. In the meantime I will enjoy looking at yours. Thanks
Sandra
lovely pics of us and roman. Sandra you have done a brilliant job with the garden.....jim
Your garden is going to look stunning Sandra and all your hard work will pay off. I can imagine the joy you will have out there in the summer. Hope you can put the Strawberry basket somewhere frost free in case the weather changes. You will be in for a lot of watering as they say we are going to have the hottest summer for thirty years! You can imagine my feelings on that. Alas our garden will not look much this year, Mike can only take on so much and I will not be able to do it until the Autumn at least. Time will also be a factor with me attending hospital every day. I will ask Becky if she can put some Geraniums in my tubs but that will be about it. Loved the pictures of the family with Roman, he looks such a happy little boy. Yes, they do grow out of swings fast. Nathan is now too big for ours but Daniel is still using it.

I love your gardening and the photographs of the plants are beautiful. I used to enjoy vegetable gardening. When we lived in Kent in the early 60s I dug a quarter of an acre and kept us supplied with potatoes, greens tomatoes and so on. My husband was a rose fiend, especially the old varieties. Sadly, we are too decrepit to look after a garden now, even if we had one. It's just a sunny, south-facing balcony. But it gives us much pleasure. Keep going at the garden centre. All work is hard but yours does sound so rewarding.
What wonderful photos of the garden and Roman's tent with his grandpa & grandmother enjoying it with him. Looks like you are having some wonderful weather. Snow is gone here and we had temps around 80 today. LOL
Hope you aren't too busy at work. Have a good rest of your week.
Hugs, Barb

Thank you sharing the photos with me.
By the way, my son and I found a new Garden Centre, about half an hour's drive from where I live, and it was the best that I have been to so far.
The staff were very helpful and there were several things in this centre that I have not seen anywhere else.
In the distance, I saw a man that I though was the manager and when I asked who he was, he confirmed that he was in charge of the centre and asked if he could be of service to my son and I.
I told him that he could not be of help to us and that I mearly wished to tell him that his centre was the best one that I have ever been to.
Instead of taking any credit for the way everythig was set out, he said that all the hard work was being done by his assistant and lead me to him so that I could personally thank him.
Wasn't that a good gesture on the manager's part?
By for now,
John.
I hope we have not kept you away from getting your hair the way you like it to be.
John.
