Look what I saw in the magnolia tree in my back garden.....three Indian ring-necked parakeets (the third is in the top right hand corner) , I couldn`t believe my eyes so I jumped out of the shower, grabbed a towel and my camera and took some photos. I really hope they come back again. :o)

That is pretty neat. Hope they could get some seeds out of the feeder. They will probably come back since they have found the food source. Helen
Where did they come from? Any idea cos they certainly are not native to us!!!
They must have gotten out on a cage...poor babies, I hope a hawk doesn't get them. Maybe someone could trap them. Did they seem friendly?
Have a great weekend!

Have the escaped from someone's home? If so, I hope they fly back to their home before the freeze to death or some bigger bird gets them. But what a great photo opportunity for you. Linda in Washington state
Hi Sandra, where do you live? I live in Kent and we often have green parakeets in our garden, today there were eight of them! They really squawk loud when there's a lot of them! We have several bird-feeders so often have lots of birds visiting us. Apparently there are quite a few parakeets in Richmond Park as well. ~~~ Pat
He he, you must have been chuffed to see them there Sandra, they're so pretty aren't they! Hope they come back regularly for you :o)

Awwwwwwww lucky you!! We dont get birds like that - I got a woodpecker in my garden once and I got really excited about that - not seen him since though. Love Laine xxx
WOW a lovely photo, now they have found food in your garden I hope they come back, I wonder if they have escaped from a cage or if they are wild ones
take care Lynne xx
I've heard that there are quite large colonies of wild parakeets here Sandra, they're pretty aren't they, much nicer than our normal birds! Glad you managed to get a photo of them! Have a great weekend. Jeannette xx http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

Very pretty, but are you sure nobody is missing their parakeet down your way?
Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a wild parakeet before. They are beautiful. I hope the visit you again, too.
Hugs, Kathy
How cool!! I'd have been so shocked! Are they wild or a pet I wonder? Either way, it's a fun thing to see.
Pam
Oh my goodness! I can't believe it! How cool is that? I've seen it all. I knew that there are keets in Britain, but this truly is a first for me. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Susie

You are lucky to have these birds on your garden. They have been becoming established in London for the past few years where they have a breeding colony which is doing very well. They have also spread northward to Leeds. They are great birds and so unexpected in this country. Love Joan.
Oh Sandra, you are so lucky. They will probably scare the the other birds away but I would not mind, no with bright colours like that. I know there are large flocks of them in the UK now but we have never seen any around here. What a super photo. Put up a nest box with a suitable sized hole, you never know you might get baby Ringnecks!
Wow aren't they pretty?? I wonder if they belonged to someone!!
