Hello Everyone,
Here I am after a week of not writing an entry of reading very many either. I`ve been just too busy or too tired OR both. I know that`s a very poor excuse and I`ll try harder next week to read more journals, I don`t want to find myself missing out on too much.
This last week at work I`ve been seriously busy. I`ve had to take everything down from the shelves, clean them thoroughly and replace all the stock. It doesn`t sound very hard but it is back-breaking work. There is still lots to do and it`ll probably take a couple of weeks but I really don`t mind as I like to keep busy and it really passes the time. On Friday I went into work an hour early as we had a staff meeting. There`s going to be some changes made and one of those entails me working outside for one day a week. I was shown around the plant area by our outside manager and then I cleared some beds for the last hour before I went home. This really did make a change for me and I really liked being outside despite the dismal weather, it`s not as though we aren`t given enough coats to wear. I have my fleece, bodywarmer and a waterproof coat that I borrowed until I get my own and I was as warm as toast. If it get`s much colder as is forecast, I shall wear a woolly hat too...lol!
On Thursday I bashed my leg on a display frame and it really hurt, the pain quickly wore off and I forgot all about it. Later on in the afternoon I had this really uncomfortable throbbing pain in my leg which didn`t go until later that night. I`d forgotten all about the earlier collision with the frame and didn`t connect the two events. Yesterday morning after my morning shower I saw that I had a large bruise on my leg and the surrounding area was quite swollen, I must have hit my poor little leg harder than I thought...note: must be more careful in future and look where I`m going!
At last I have a new jacket. It is the one from Marks&Spencer that I tried on the just after Christmas but was too big. Well I was shopping with Jim Thursday afternoon and I found it in my size and it looked great. It`s black, short and fitted and is made of 98% wool and is fully lined. It`s exactly the kind of thing I`ve had in mind for a while so I knew when I first tried that it was perfect, that was why I was so disappointed when it didn`t fit. Now it`s mine all mine...lol! Roman is back to his healthy happy self after almost ridding himself of that nasty cold. However, though he`s better health wise, behaviour wise is another story. I think the so-called `terrible twos` have started early in his case. I`m sure it`s going to be a rocky ride ahead, not that I`m worried..I`m just his Nanna and I`ve done it all before, It`s Kerry and Slava I feel sorry for, but then like every other set of parents I`m sure they`ll cope...lol!
Today I did a bit of early spring cleaning, goodness knows why as Jim is starting decorating in the next few weeks, but as least I know the front room and kitchen are spotless, well almost. I`ve done all the washing and dried it all despite the torrential rain that`s been falling since first thing this morning. There`s nothing like a spot of housework to keep you fit...lol!
Well I`ll say goodbye my friends, I must go and read those journals AND comment today. I hope you all have a really nice weekend and that the weather is much better than it is here. Cheerio. :o)

I think you will relly enjoy working outside once the weather starts into spring.A fitted jacket sounds so nice but I will have to loose about 3 stones before I could think of one. Have a good week and I hope the rain stays off for you. Love Joan.
Good to catch up with you. If it gets too cold working outside, get yourself a couple of pairs of "long johns", very trendy lol. Take care. Keep laughing.
Love Sylvia xx

Hope your leg feels better soon. That hurts!! OUCH!
Wishing Kerry and Slava good luck with Roman. I recall my son did good until he hit the age of three. Then, it was like I'd had a different kid sometimes. We all survive, though. Just as you said.
Have a good weekend.
Pam
Sorry to read about your bruise and swelling. I hope it is getting better. It is good that Roman is over his cold and not so good about the pre-terrible-twos, lol ! You do get to say 'Bye Bye' when his Mommy and Daddy come though! A good warm wool jacket is nice against the cold and must be rather stylish also in black. I have had a bug that keeps coming back every time I go out when it warms up and work on my home and sweat a little climbing up and down the ladder, so I am staying inside for awhile. I have been using salt water in my nose to get it into my sinus passages which really opens them up. I was told to do that by a doctor long ago with my ear infections. It kills off bacteria and allows ventilation. I can tell you are enjoying your work and staying really busy. mark

You have some cute graphics on here. Glad that you found the coat you liked in your size. Ouch! Poor you bumping you leg so hard. I hope it doesn't get to cold for you when you have to work outside. That sounds like a hard job to me cleaning those shelves and what was on them. Hope your day is going good today. Hugs, Helen
Glad you got the coat you wanted....i hope Roman is doing well...its been very warm in Ohio.....i hate it that you hurt your leg....i have done that at work many times also.
XO lj
Awesome on finding the coat you like. I find I'm almost never happy with my heavier coats and endlessly searching for something better. Keeping busy is what I do best too LOL. About bruises, I myself am discovering I'm covered with little small bruises all over my legs and arms. I think it's from rough housing with Pickles, she's a nut when she plays. I love it though. As to your question about if Pickles was a blk. Lab. Yep, mostly lol. She does have some Husky , the tell a tale curly tale in the back. She has spotted white paws, a white spotted chest. And one tiny spot of white on the tip of her tail. She's a riot!!! She points like a Labador too, the one foot up, nose out. Well I guess we both should be more careful in the future. (Hugs) Take care Indigo
I would love working at a garden shop/but would not like outside duty when the weather is bad. And that means rain/snow/sleet/cold and too hot. I guess a garden shop is not for me. LOL So glad to hear Roman is feeling better. I hope Kerry and Roman are firm with him, so many young parents hate to do that. They don't realize it's easier to do it when they're two than when they are 16. I'm glad those years are behind me.......Linda in Washington
Might be a bit cold working outside just now, but think how lovely it will be later in the year :o) Hope your leg is OK Sandra, pesky display frame, tut tut!

I have to tell you something funny. My daughter walked by when I opened your journal and she saw the donkey on the clothes line. She laughed and said, "Someone put their ass on the line." LOL Do you use that expression there? If not, let me know and I'll explain. Your job sounds tiring but fun. I am full of sympathy about Roman's 'terrible two's'. My grandson, Andrew has a bad case of them too. LOL He can be so sweet and then turn around and be so awful.
Take care of your bruised leg!! Ouchie.
Hugs, Kathy
Mmmm............if you wanna keep fit you can do my housework too ;-) Just a thought lol............. Glad your getting some variety at work and your keeping warm. What is Jim decorating?? Don't forget the before and after pics. I don't envy Kerry and Slava but I'm sure they'll cope :-)

Kara
I'm behind too. I don't think I've even been round to say HAPPY NEW YEAR! At least I'm here before February. LOL Sounds as if things are going well and keeping your busy at your job AND at home. We've been busy too. Gettin the Christmas down and put away and seems every time I turn around someone has a dr visit. I'm so glad you found the jacket you wanted in your size,. I know how much you wanted it. I haven't even been shopping except for food. I have no desire to shop. Take care and hope your leg is feeling better.
Hugs, Barb
