Hello everyone..... a a very big welcome to you all.
Yesterday started with a phone call from Kerry telling me what a good nights sleep she had. Little Man was as good as gold and all night just waking for his feeds. Between the hours of 5am and 9, he slept the whole time and had to be woken for his feed. What a great start he has made, but more of that later.....!
Kerry has Jim`s sister and her husband visit in the afternoon. They came bearing gifts and it took Kerry ages to open them all, she had so many. Little man is not going to want for clothes, toys or just about anything. Jim and I got a photo frame especially to put baby photos in, that`s three we have now but we will have more than enough photos to put in them.
Kerry is doing really well, I`m just so proud of her. She adores her little boy and has shown a level of maturity that I know I didn`t posess when I had her. I know she will be a wonderful mother. She is not in any pain now, though I keep telling her not to rush things and to rest more, though I doubt she`ll take much notice of me! The midwife came to check on her and told her off for having visitors, in fact told her off for pretty much everything she has done. Having said that, all the advice she offered was contrary to what Kerry was told in hospital. I told her to listen to the hospital advice and she said she agreed with me. Luckily the next midwife to visit is the one who saw her through her pregnancy and is a lovely lady.
This morning I got another call from Kerry informing me that Roman was NOT good last night. In fact he was really bad..... He was fed, winded, changed and still he cried... and cried......and cried. I told her that that is perfectly normal behaviour. I did have a little smile to myself, remembering when Kerry was a baby and she certainly was not the most settled of babies. In fact, I should have realised that she would be a singer one day because the noise that came from that tiny little girl was just incredible!
This afternoon we have to take Jake to the Vet. He has an abcess on the side of his face and I think it maybe a dogbite. I have been keeping it very clean but it was not enough to stop the infection. It may have been when he and Marshall were playing but somehow I think a puppy couldn`t have caused it to infect like that. He does play with lotes of other dogs and a the other week a dog caught him around the muzzle.
Jim is putting the finishing touches to the back doorstep before it starts raining again. The little bits are taking the longest but it`s nealy done now. While having luch at the garden centre, we saw a stand that was selling house name plates. We decided a while back to call our house " The Dog House". The reasons being that:
1) We have a dog!
2) Jim say he`s always in the `dog house` ....lol
So we thought it was the perfect name. Now we have to choose the plaque for the wall. Thankfully the one we like is one of the cheaper ones. I have to go now and get ready to go to the Vet, then go to do some things for Kerry when I get back. Have a lovely day all of you and take care.

Lol at the Dog House. Sandra, if ever they get bites, I always use tea tree oil. I have stopped two abscesses from forming that way, wonderful stuff. Oh yes, the bad nights were bound to come. Nathan was the same for the first few days and then she was up several times a night with him. We have him today and it has gone very quiet so I had best go and see what he is up to.
Sandra, i just love reading about the baby. I am so glad he is healthy and it is obvious you will be a great grandma to him! I hope Jake gets better soon!!!!! Have a happy Monday, hugs, lj
Hope Roman soon get settled down. I know not getting any rest with a new baby is tough. I went through that for three months with my son when he was born.
Good name for you house LOL. Hope Jake soon get well. helen
As we all know, Kerry will soon settle in to knowing the cries and what they mean. So happy she had a good night at first. But Little Man sounds like he will be just fine.
Poor Jake, please keep us posted on what the Vet says.
I love the "Dog House" thing!

It's good to hear that both Kerry and little man are doing well :o)
Hopefully young Roman will let his Mum get some rest during the day!

It's amazing how much noise can come out of such little things isn't it, LOL!
I know all about babies crying all night, Kevin did it non stop for weeks, then I changed his milk formula to another one and he settled big time!!!!
Ah babies...........such a joy (bet you are having the odd quiet smile)
Glad things are going well. I love that doggie graphic listening to the radio.
Hope the baby continues to sleep. My sister sure had a time with Sweet E. She is still fussy and she's 1.5 years old.
Have a good day...I'm at the tail end of my lunch hour --eating at my desk.

The dog/radio graphic is cool. The newest edition to the family wants to be heard by everyone. The is a wonderful time and a reason for giving thanks by your family. It makes me think about time in a completely different way, as through the eyes of a baby. Best wishes, mark
I like the dog graphic too - I'm afraid I've pinched it hope you don't mind LOL........I'm so glad that Kerry's doing well!! I expect that Kerry's only coming across with a new maturity coz she had such a good teacher to learn from ;-)
