ANOTHER DAY CLOSER!

Just another Little man!

Hello everyone......

Another day closer to my holiday and I`m really getting excited now.  Tomorrow I`m getting my hair done and today I`ve packed more things and rechecked our tickets and passports, charged the batteries for the camera and camcorder, dug out the travel hairdrier and iron.  I`m trying to cut down on the things I take with me but it`s very hard.  I mean I have no idea what I will want to wear from day to day.  Oh well... I just have to try harder...lol!

Today we all (Me, Jim, Kerry and Little Man) went for lunch to the garden centre cafe.  Roman was as good as gold and slept right through.  Then we went on to the giant Tescos for a good look around.  They did have some wonderful bargains like a steam iron for £6, and a sandwich toaster for £5....!   How can that be possible?  I`ll have one of each when I get back from holiday.  Oh yes, they had large suitcases for £12.95...why didn`t I see them the other day when we went to get ours?....sigh.  I did buy some Indian icecream called Almond Kulfi, it has a very different taste but it is really delicious.  I`ll try a different flavour next time.  The lifts/elevators in the shop are very fancy with glass doors, a bit unnerving if you don`t like lifts (like me) but very quick so you don`t have to worry too much!  I`m impressed also with the air-conditioned underground parking.  I`m impressed by the whole shop and the walkway from the shopping centre AND the new road layout that they have had to do to satisfy the local council.  I just hope they keep up the standards they have set, time will tell.

When we got home and Kerry had fed and changed Little Man, we went outside and sat on the patio.  We seem to do this every day now with Jake lying down beside us, still not sure what the funny little thing in the carseat is all about!  If he cries Jake looks at him in such a funny way, but he isn`t too concerned or quite as interested as he was at first.

Jim is preparing to watch football tonight so I`ll be onlinefor longer as I don`t plan to join him.  Tomorrow he is going fishing very early in the morning with two friends.  Maybe as he hasn`t been in a while he`ll catch something this time.  It`s not as though we get to keep what he catches from the freshwater lakes but he just wants to catch something large.  A nice fat carp or bream would suit him nicely.  He has his fishing gear all ready, his sandwiches all prepared too.  I`ll have tomorrow morning all to myself now.

Well I must go now as I have lots of emails to answer and more journals to read.  I think I`ve been keeping up with them quite well lately despite doing a dozen things at once.  Have a nice evening and please take care.

JUST A FEW FUNNIES

Save the whales, collect the whole set.

On the other hand, you have different fingers.

I just got lost in thought, it was unfamiliar territory.

Remember half the people you know are below average.

Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how popular it remains?

He who laughs last thinks slowest.

Borrow money from a pessimist - they don`t expect it back.

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

When everything`s coming your way, you`re in the wrong lane and going the weong way.

Lovin' the graphics Sandra and a super pic of little man :-)  Talkin' of lifts with glass reminds me of the one to get to the top of the tower at Blackpool.  Scared of heights that didn't do me at all.  I went the whole way to the top with my eyes closed but loved coming back down LOL

Love seeing his bright little face...so cute.  Glad he is enjoying his outings with family.  Sounds like a very good baby.
Yes, your holiday is getting closer...I can feel the excitement in your entry.  Enjoy your evening and tomorrow too.

I need to warn you.....you're going to miss him like crazy !!  I went on vacation when Harrison was a couple months old.  Had to stop by their house on the way out of town and kiss him good-bye.  He was asleep and it woke him up but I didn't care..I just needed to hold & snuggle him one more time before I was gone for 2 weeks.  As I remember, daughter Jools was not happy with me.  Oh well.. a grandma's gotta do, what a grandma's gotta do !  He is precious !

That giant Tesco place sounds like a different world - amazing! And Indian icecream? The mind truly boggles. Hope Jim has a great day's fishing, and returns with some good new fishing yarns to add to his repertoire! Never mind about packing enough clothes for Canada - you'll have a wonderful time there, whatever you decide to take.

David.
